I’ve been there. I’m still there. Being a parent of a special needs individual goes well beyond the childhood years and can often be a daily challenge or triumph. Sometimes I feel as if I fit into many categories all at the same time - Educator, Author, Actress, Wife, Dog owner, Mom, traveler, short person who is now retired. I am intimately familiar with the struggles and possibilities connected to living with and loving someone who is labeled as a person with disabilities. I even have a deaf cat! How did that happen? This space is for sharing wisdom, resources, and making connections. I’m open for questions and will provide the answers based on my own unique perspective.
